Amgraph Packaging is a lithographic printing company known for its high impact flexible packaging for products like Pepperidge Farm cookies and Constant Comment tea. But recently, Amgraph Packaging decided it needed some high impact "flexible packaging" of another sort from The Momentum Group.

"We contracted with them to move forward with a real marketing effort."

The problem? As President Ken Fontaine, Sr. explains, "Our people were so busy serving existing customers that even though we had identified new prospects, we didn't pursue them."
A business advisor recommended The Momentum Group to Ken, who engaged Momentum to put on a presentation for the sales force. From that grew a marketing plan, a new marketing organization, new ads, new corporate literature, and a new lead generation program.
Ken sees it this way: "Momentum altered our thought process about customers and how they see us. As a result, we have created a Marketing Services Department that primarily focuses on new customers to help us bring the fish aboard the boat rather than just identifying them.
"We didn't have an organized methodology to assess a prospect in terms of dollar potential, size and product."

Ken Fontaine, Jr. is Amgraph's New Product Development and Marketing Services Manager. He feels that Momentum personnel "have been big aids in our advertising campaign and lead generation to obtain new business."
Along with creating ads, Momentum helped set up a novel lead generation and qualification program. Raw leads go first to Momentum, where they are evaluated and ranked. Every week, the five most promising ones go to Amgraph for follow-up.

Working in the new marketing department is Sales Assistant Judy Hershberger, who feels that "Momentum has made my job a lot easier. We are neophytes at this business and Momentum has given us a very focused direction to proceed.
"They are supplying prescreened leads. We follow up on them, but Momentum is also tracking them with us. We use the same contact management software at both locations and we are linked to an interactive database.
"This has opened up a whole new field for me. I didn't expect most of what they are doing for us. Their response time, the quality of information, the turnaround time is very high level."
